Programme focus

Modern creative skills with practical outcomes.

CREST is built for adults who may face barriers to traditional education or employment, and opens routes into creative and technical practice that do not rely on being “the star”. Learners can explore performance, production, media and support roles at a pace that suits the group.

🎧

Music & DJ-ing

Hands-on introduction to mixing, music selection, performance flow, controller familiarity and creative confidence.

🎙

Recording & podcasting

Voice, recording chains, microphones, interfaces, editing basics and hardware familiarisation for audio-led work.

🎥

Media & broadcasting

Livestreaming, A/V editing, content creation, open broadcast workflows, online presence and self-presentation.

🔊

Events & live production

Stage gear, signal flow, event support, sound reinforcement and the technical jobs that keep creative events moving.

Flexible delivery: while DJ-ing is a major entry point, the programme can also shift toward production, podcasting, livestreaming, media work, event support and broader creative/media literacy depending on learner interest and host goals.
Commissioning & delivery

Simple to book. Free to the learner.

Learners do not pay tuition fees. CREST is commissioned by the host organisation or supported through grant/funding arrangements.

CREST can be delivered anywhere a host can provide a suitable room and electricity. Brian supplies the core demonstration equipment. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops or headphones where helpful, but participation does not depend on private resources.
